Beautiful with Rooms Representative of Jerusalem

Date of Stay:

What an amazing house! We had a large family staying at this beautiful house and it was perfect for us. The rooms were beautiful and representative of Jerusalem. The house is located two blocks from the renovated old Jerusalem train station - filled with nice restaurants, cafes, dancing, music, ice cream, etc. There is also a free shuttle every 20 minutes from there to Jerusalem's Dung gate, which is just steps from the Wailing Wall. It was perfect.

A Perfect Stay in a Great Location

Date of Stay:

Sultan Palace was perfect for our group of 14 and Terri was very helpful in our preparation for our trip. The house was in a great location. It took us 15-20 minutes to walk to the Jaffa Gate and there was a really great outdoor park/ restaurants/ stores place within about 5 minutes of the house that we ate dinner at a few times. The house is really big and the rooms were great. Even though there were a couple of hot days while we were there, we never had to turn on the a/c because the house just stays cool. We had no problems while there and the showers always had hot water and the house feels totally secure with a alarm system, locked doors and gates, etc. We met several of the neighbors and the were really friendly. We will definitely use this house on future trips.

2nd Visit and Still Exceptional

Date of Stay:

A group of 7 (five adults and two teens) stayed for four days and it worked very well for us. We were touring Israel and this was a great break from hotel living while in Jerusalem. It was perfect for relaxing in the evenings and breakfasts at home. The market is convenient for a few groceries if needed. This is my second time to rent the property and my recommendation is still high for its convenience, family living and beauty. We had room for privacy but also for togetherness in the evenings. Because of weather, we stayed in most evenings, but the area is close to fun restaurants at the renovated train station and a healthy walk to the Old City. We had a guide and driver which made our transportation a non-issue. We will use again.

Enjoyable Stay

Date of Stay:

I had a group of 9. All was just as advertised. My crew really enjoyed the house and location to the old city and the great restaurants in the First Station. Beds were comfy and house was homey :) We'll definitely use it again for future groups!

Amazing Home

Date of Stay:

We stayed at this wonderful home (not sure whether to call it a house, flat, etc., but it felt like a "home" to us) for a week and used it as our base to travel throughout Israel. We were up and out early almost every morning, but it was fantastic to come back late in the afternoon, relax a bit (catch up on e-mail, etc. using the wi-fi) and then walk to dinner (there were 8 of us and we didn't rent a car, so we'd prefer to walk). There are a variety of restaurants to walk to, as well as grocery stores (the larger one is closed on Shabbat, but there is another very close by that is open). The home also has an excellent kitchen and we brought back food from Mahane Yehuda market and cooked dinner a couple of nights too (the dining room table is huge and easily fit us all). We had one minor issue (a shutter outside came loose) and they took care of it within an hour or two. I would highly recommend this home to families of almost any size and look forward to traveling to Israel again and staying right back here!

Location and Elegance

Date of Stay:

This is our 2nd time renting the Sultan's Palace. We have a group of 12 International Musicians that do concerts throughout Israel, and we use Sultan's Palace for our home base. The location is outstanding, you can WALK everywhere in Jerusalem! The Wall, The Old City ...even up to Ben Yehuda, or it's a 5 minute bus ride. The Rail Station with it's restaurants and artisan kiosks is only 1 block away, and all the busses leave from there. The managers attend to you right away. The place is as beautiful as it looks in the photos, the Judaica art on the walls provides a lovely ambiance. Very classy accommodations, we will be booking a 3rd time!

Amazing Spacious Comfortable Highly Recommended

Date of Stay:

This house was amazing. Spacious, comfortable, with all the amenities. The communication is organized and perfect. Highly highly recommended.

Beautiful Lodging of Excellence

Date of Stay:

The listing description accurately described this beautiful lodging of elegance, ancient halls, well appointed with tasteful Israeli art and magnanimous views. We have been to Jerusalem many times but this was the best for location, convenience and view of the Old City. Property was very clean and well maintained, and responses for help or a new coffee maker were immediate. We brought a team of International Harpists and are expecting to rent again, next year. Would highly recommend to any group of 12. The only thing to remember is that Israeli's call self contained units, a house, and this felt and performed like a house, but technically you are part of a larger unit. Once you are inside, you would never imagine it is not a whole house, and extremely private.

Great Experience

Date of Stay:

From the beginning of my experience, Terri was very helpful and informative. She was able to put my worries to rest. I was leery about using the Keyless Entry System, but it ended up working very nicely. I never needed a "physical key" to gain entrance to the building. I was even able to create my own pass code to the system. The rooms were very spacious and clean. My family was able to have their own rooms and our friends from in town were even able to spend the night with us. Overall great 1st time experience and would love to stay at Terri's place again and any other listings she has. Thanks,

Great location Beautiful Views

Date of Stay:

This home was a perfect rental for our group of 12 women (which is the max I would recommend even though there are more pull out beds. It would get crowded quickly). Questions about internet and heat were answered quickly. It happened to be cold and rainy while we were in Jerusalem and the cistern sleeping area was more difficult to heat, but the rest of the home stayed quite warm. Once we found out about the heating option for downstairs it was much better. The location is great for the Old City and markets close by. Beautiful view when the sun rises. Overall it is a quiet neighborhood. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers

Perfect for Our Large Family

Date of Stay:

This is a renovated stone structure apartment building which worked out perfect for our family of 7 to gather each morning for breakfast and venture out to old city for sight seeing each day. We stayed here for 6 nights and enjoyed being together for meals and family time together. The contacts were all courteous and helpful in our first trip to Israel. This is a wonderful base of operations to venture into the old city about 20 minute walk. We hired a walking guide who met us at the door and spent 2 days walking us all over old city of Jerusalem. We also hired driving guide who pick us up at door and took us all to Bethlehem, Dead Sea, Jericho, Jordan river, Masada, and Qumran. We spent each night dinning at nearby train station restaurants or dinning in large beautiful dinning room. Highly recommend this house to large family or close friends in a group. This is an old renovated stone building so do not expect a 5 star hotel in New York. I do believe it is perfect for a group to spend time together in the mornings and evenings.

An American Luxury... in Jerusalem... Picture Perfect!

Date of Stay:

In addition to all the wonderful and true things we had read by guests at the Sultan's Palace, allow me to add the following: Recently, the municipality of Jerusalem undertook to completely re-vision the old train station just 2 blocks away from the Sultan's Palace. The result is an amazing cultural confluence of Jerusalem's diverse population wherein people can sit, drink, eat, ride bikes, shop and breathe in what is indescribably unique about Yerushalayim. Moreover, one can rent bicycles there and follow a 10k path all the way to the mall (Malcha) where the food court has two sides, one for meat and the other for milk. The Sultan's Palace allows you to hear the Muslim call to prayer, the Church bells, and the Shabbat siren. We stayed in American luxury with a view of the Old City from the dining room. It was picture perfect! Rabbi Shai Cherry, Ph.D.

Perfect Base for Your Lifetime Dream Trip to Israel

Date of Stay:

Perfect Base for Your Lifetime Dream Trip to Israel My wife and I stayed at "Sultan's Palace" for 10 days last month - I brought her there because I had stayed with friends on an earlier trip almost 3 years ago. Israel - and Jerusalem in particular - is an awe-inspiring experience. And there can be no better "base" for that experience than this classic, spacious stone residence where you wake up every morning looking out at Old Jerusalem. The walls of the Old City, and the Jaffa Gate in particular, are an easy - and very safe and comfortable - walk from Sultan's Palace. The home is very comfortably furnished, breathtakingly spacious with high ceilings and thick, solid stone walls, modern kitchen and bathroom conveniences, great wi-fi internet and everything a large family or group of good friends could possibly want. It's a 5 minute walk from the former Jerusalem train station which has been "re-purposed" as a restaurant, arts and entertainment center, and the start of a 3+ mile walking/bike path through interesting suburban Jerusalem neighborhoods. Several of Jerusalem's finest hotels are minutes away, and even the famous Ben Yehudah Street - and the daytime and evening activities and shopping it offers - is an easy (and safe) walking distance. The rental procedure and management is very professional, with great cleaning and, if necessary, maintenance (we didn't need it on either trip - but the phone contacts were there). Check-in/out was a breeze and everything was exactly as advertised - or better!! Great air conditioning masked even the hottest July Jerusalem days, and easy parking and access made excursions outside of Jerusalem very convenient. "Sultan's Palace" was the ideal base not only to see Jerusalem, but to tour all of Israel (and did we ever!!).

A Wonderful Adventure

Date of Stay:

Four couples and five singles spent two weeks together at Sultan's Palace and had a wonderful adventure. We were experienced Israel travelers and found the place convenient with the best view imaginable. We ate many of our main meals away but cooked a few times and were able to work with the Kosher kitchen without effort. Shopping was convenient and the home was roomy enough for enjoyable visiting, reading, playing cards and simply adults living together. If we stay again, we will make an early effort to get an Extended Bus Pass from Central Bus Station which will give flexibility and relieve the pressure of being certain you are on the correct line. We learned a lot about public transportation and dealing with taxis. Rated: a super fun time!! And, all the friends are still speaking to each other.

Family Trip to Israel

Date of Stay:

My family (there were 6 of us in total) traveled to Israel in November for my son's Bar Mitzvah. We were looking for a unique place to stay that was walking distance to the Old City, restaurants, etc. We found the perfect place in this home. Not only is it beautiful (the pictures don't do it justice), it is very well maintained and comfortable. The place is very spacious and the kids loved sleeping in the lower level. The views from the dining room and living room are amazing. Waking up and looking out at the Old City was very special. We were able to walk to the Old City and other areas without any problem. The owner and his management team are responsive and they answered any questions that we had. I would highly reccomend this rental to anyone looking for a unique place to stay while in Jerusalem.

Amazing house. Amazing view. Walk to the Old City

Date of Stay:

We just came back from a week in Jerusalem at the Sultan's Palace. The house was absolutely awesome. It is beautiful, large and walking distance to the Old City. Moreover, it is one thing to find a great house, but it is another thing altogether to work with great people. Jason (the owner), Terri (the manager) and Alice (the caretaker) are all great, ultra-professional individuals who made the entire process easy and stress free. I would highly recommed this house for a large family or family reunion in Jerusalem.
